Harvest Fest

This is a fundraising idea that you can tailor to be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Make the most of the fall harvest and Halloween season to arrange a Harvest Fest for your group, setting up sales of local produce that's particularly in demand around this time of year.

Find and make contact with a local farmer who is willing to sell you a large quantity of pumpkins. You're going to need them in all shapes and sizes, from sugar (pie) pumpkins to large carving pumpkins for the jack-o-lanterns. If you can find apples for sale locally, you can include these too.

Have a corn and hot dog roasting station set up somewhere around the event as well, and sell some hot apple cider to whoever wants it. You can give visitors the chance to express their creative side with a “paint your own pumpkin” activity as well. If you're up for having a larger Harvest Fest, rent a bounce house, inflatable slide, and any other activities you can get your hands on.

You might also want to bring in someone to give pony rides. On top of this you can have an apple-and-pumpkin-themed bake sale and raise money from pies, cookies and muffins made by your group's members.
